Overview

The investment strategy used is grounded in modern portfolio theory and common sense. The author of the strategy is David Swensen. Mr. Swensen is the Chief Investment Officer of the Yale Endowment and a prominent and successful advocate of multi-asset class investing. Recognizing that individual investors lack the resources and tax status of Yale, he modified the approach for the individual investor. He carefully selects asset classes with efficient markets, uncorrelated returns and acceptable risk/return characteristics. Vanguard index funds are used to target these asset classes. Depending on the client's unique circumstances, the proportions of the asset classes will vary, but the targeted asset classes remain the same.
